Program Overview

This training program is designed to equip business professionals with the necessary skills, knowledge and strategies to move their organizations along the Emotional Intelligence (EQ) path.

During the program participants will understand how they could apply EQ on a daily task and on a team effort; what are the best ways to improve managing their emotions; some of the tools used by other experts in this area that will encourage the participants to achieve their goals in business, becoming more center, rational and detail-oriented individuals.

Also, they will participate in specific scenarios that challenge and allow them to step outside their comfort zone performing a series of practical exercises, designed to reinforce the learning outcomes.

It’s all starting with Evolution Theory. It was Darwin the first one to explain how an emotional expression was essential for survival. That is why learning to moderate our emotions, help us to have healthiest relationships with others and with ourselves; to developed an empathic character that give us inner peace.

Let’s take a closer look at the next cases that should speak to all of us, and there are about different situations that occur to three different leaders and CEOs. First of all, Jeff Bezos, as the leader of Amazon, he was criticized for the work environment of his company, and for all of those allegations, he’s response was direct, calm, and emotionally mature. Another case of success on this department, was the one about Ursula Burns, the CEO of VEON and who Forbes Magazine in 2014, cataloged her as the 22ª most powerful women in the world. Ursula once says that a big thing for a CEO “it’s a good poker-face” because everyone is looking at you, so it is important to control our emotions, so they couldn’t control us. Also, it’s very important to maintain calm in any circumstances and to be consider to others in the process, one example of this is the case of Elon Musk, that until the notice about employee’s injuries in Tesla, present their sympathies, caring about team’s safety but maintaining his role of Manager.

The importance of EQ at the work place it lies in making better decisions, communicate well to others, in a more diplomatically way and resolve important issues regarding any obstacle that need to be face. That is why, in a research directed by Robert Half, in companies, primary in the US and Canada, it was found that 95% of the Human Resources Managers and 99% of the workers feels the importance of a strong EQ level; and 86% of the workers says that colleagues who doesn’t control their emotions, affects their perception of that person’s level of professionalism.

During the session, attendees will participate in different scenarios at work, that challenge them and get them out of their comfort zone. In those scenarios, they will need to create an alternative universe to think clearly under pressure, take fast and assertive decisions, think outside the box, and understand the best way to stablish healthiest relationships with their colleagues. This will allow for a better understanding of the topics and for better knowledge sharing different experiences and points of views.
