Stress is a natural feeling of not being able to cope or keep up with specific demands and events one is facing (Felman, 2020). Stress has both its pros and cons, it can often times act as a motivator and is even crucial to survive. But when a person becomes easily triggered or has too many factors contributing to stress at a time it can compromise their mental and physical health. Given the current pandemic at our front door, the pressure has been hitting us all hard especially those involved in healthcare.
What we have come up with here is a collection of ideas and methods that are both practical and easily adaptable to help manage stress. We designed our course ranging from instant stress managing methods to methods that require more practice and helps build a longer-term resilience towards stress. Our main objectives were to provide methods that are easily applicable and incorporated in a person’s daily lifestyle. We aim to provide a series of stress relief methods based on the situation and its demands.
The course consists of 3 parts, the ‘instant stress relief methods’, ‘with a little practice’ methods and ‘with more practice’ methods. We go thoroughly in the first two parts, with step-by-step explanations of the process.
After completing this course, the participants will be able to:
A brief refresh on methods taught and a quick check-list type style on how to carry each method out.
