“The purpose of information is not knowledge; it is being able to take the right action” – Peter Drucker
“Without data, you are just another person with an opinion”, according to W. Edwards Deming, one of the forces behind the Japanese post-war economic miracle. Organisations are recognizing this fact and making a greater use of their data, especially now during COVID-19, when digital technology usage is rising rapidly. Presently, a lot of enterprise professionals are getting simple insights from data by analysing data in spreadsheets or discovering complex relationships using Big Data or Artificial Intelligence.
However, once an insight is at hand, it needs to be used for enterprise decision-making. And, while this seems easy, the reality could be very different. Imagine a situation in a bank, where data shows that the best option in relation to Branch No 539 is for it to be closed within 3 months. Many parties will be affected by this, such as HR, Marketing, Community Relations, etc. and they may not be agreeable to this. Thus, after the data analysis is done, it is important to present its results in a way that will bring the desired action.
This training program is designed to equip participants with the skills, tools and knowledge to present data insights in a convincing, logical and actionable way. During the program delegates will study the context for impactful data presentations, improve and use well-known visualizations, understand how our brains perceive visualizations and learn how to apply design thinking in data communication. At the end, a step-by-step example is reviewed, and scenario work done, based on it. Throughout the session small gamification activities will be used to improve engagement and support the topics.
