Thye Huat Lai is a chartered accountant (ASEAN CPA and CA(M)), professionally qualified with CIMA (UK), certified professional coach, and a Malaysian Ministry of Human Resources (HRDF) certified trainer. Thye is also a certified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Practitioner and certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner. He has more than two decades of experience in senior management positions at the regional office of Japanese multi-national corporations where he reported directly to headquarters in Japan. In that time, he implemented measures that successfully enhanced performance and ensured compliance to J-SOx at these corporations.
Thye has been able to translate his expertise into corporate training courses, professional accounting capstone case study subjects (i.e. Strategic Case Study – CIMA and Global Strategic Leadership – CPA Australia), and tertiary academic courses. He has facilitated courses for private sector organisations, government (notably, the Malaysian Accountant General’s Department), Malaysian tertiary institutions, and he has also conducted Christian education classes for the previous Malaysian national service program.
Thye uses current facilitation and training methods and is able to conduct training in three languages. He has co-authored several articles on corporate governance for local and global industry publications.
